Confirmed reservation changes now allowed with American
American Airlines announced that for a $25 fee passengers could confirm a seat for an earlier or later flight than originally booked.
Passengers may still opt to fly stand-by at no cost.
Changes may be made through a travel agent, at the airport ticket counter, or at an airport self-service machine.
American believes it will generate incremental revenue from the new policy, as many fliers do wish to change their flights to an earlier or later time. The $25 fee often equates to dinner and drinks at the airport.
