Consort agents join Advantage
Northern Ireland based travel agency group Consort are to join Advantage on 1 February 2012.
Members of the Northern Ireland consortium of independent travel agents voted unanimously to join the agency group.
This will bring a further 29 branches under the Advantage Travel Centres umbrella.
Terry Murphy, chairman of Consort, said: “In these challenging times we are keen to share the strong commercial agreements membership of Advantage will give us, but in addition, marketing materials, consultancy services and other benefits will also prove extremely valuable to us.
“We wanted to retain our independence and were attracted by the high level of engagement Advantage has with its members, which helped lead us to make this decision.”
John McEwan, chief executive of Advantage Travel Centres, said: “Consort coming on board fits well with the existing members we already have in Northern Ireland and places us very clearly as the largest independent travel group in the province as well as further consolidating Advantage’s position as the largest independent travel consortium in the UK.”
