Consumer voting for British Travel Awards now open
Consumer voting has now opened for the 2021/22 British Travel Awards (BTAs) .
Nominated companies have until 2 October to lobby for consumer votes.
BTA consumer media partner Reach PLC, which includes the Daily & Sunday Mirror and Express, and numerous regional newspapers, will start a campaign to promote voting on Saturday 2 July, with ads and editorial running throughout the summer.
Nominated companies have received a marketing pack, with tools to help their lobbying campaigns.
Included in the pack is a personalised online direct voting ‘Vote for Us’ pop-up window option, which links voters straight through to the nominated company’s category on the voting form, which can be used on emails, website or via social media channels.
BTA director of events and partnerships, Lorraine Barnes Burton, said: “Nominated companies must plan and get their lobbying campaigns going without delay, encouraging all their happy customers to vote – it can make all the difference.”
“Throughout the voting period nominees can display the ‘nominated for a 2020/ 22 BTA’ logo across all platforms and on printed collateral.”
Consumers are encouraged to vote by entry into a prize draw with the chance to win holiday prizes
Travel companies who have provided prizes will be receiving additional exposure via BTA media partners and the BTA website and voting form.
There are 24 prizes up for grabs in the vote incentive prize chest this year.
So far valued at more than £36,000, prizes include a nicko Cruises’ Rhine or Danube cruise; an Ionian & Aegean Island Holidays seven-night holiday; a ‘Venice of the North’ escorted coach tour to Bruges from Shearings and a six-night Kruger National Park safari from Newmarket Holidays.
