Continental “Airline of the Year”
Continental Airlines won the “Airline of the Year” award for the second year in a row, breaking a trend of discounters winning most major awards.
Continental beat out JetBlue and Southwest and a number of international carriers to win the award. Continental won out over British Airways, Singapore Air and Emirates.
The award was given out by OAG, a specialty travel company.
The company also awarded Continental “Best Executive/Business Class” and “Best Airline based in North America.”
The top low-cost carrier award went to Australia’s Virgin Blue.
