Continental Airlines is raising frequency on flights from Scotland to New York this summer.

Services from Edinburgh will go twice-daily from May 4 while Glasgow will see frequency go up from seven to 11 flights a week to New York/Newark.

The airline will return to a daily service from Edinburgh and Glasgow from October 28 for the winter season.

Continental has recently launched two eight-minute helicopter services which take passengers from Newark airport to either Downtown Manhattan Heliport on Wall Street or the East 34th Street Heliport in Midtown Manhattan.

UK & Ireland senior director Bob Schumacher said: “We are delighted to expand our Scotland operation. The additional services will make it more convenient than ever for the Scottish business and leisure traveller to access not only New York, but the whole of America from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.”
