Cook Islands-NZ quarantine-free travel to restart in January
Cook Islands travel bubble is reopening to fully-vaccinated New Zealanders in January in early 2022.
The Cook Islands government announced a two-way quarantine-free travel corridor with New Zealand will resume from 14 January 2022.
However children under the age of 12 will not be permitted if unvaccinated.
Travellers must take a pre-departure Covid-19 test but no further test will be required upon arrival in the Cook Islands.
Kiwis wishing to travel from the main island of Rarotonga to Aitutaki will need a negative antigen test result.
"We were open for just three months from May to August this year until the current Delta outbreak in New Zealand meant that the border had to be closed. We are absolutely delighted that we can safely welcome fully vaccinated visitors from New Zealand back again very soon," Cook Islands Tourism general manager Graeme West said.
Full details of the travel corridor policy will be displayed on the Cook Islands official website in the coming weeks.
