Corporate, corporate airfare costs projected to go higher
Hotel costs will go up as much as 14% and corporate airfares will increase up to 11% next year, according to the BDC Travel 2007 Industry Forecast.
Said Mary Ellen George, general manager of BDC Travel Consulting:
“Over the past two years, we’ve seen strong, sustained growth in business travel, and this continues to drive industry prices higher.”
She said she expected growth and higher prices to continue for at least the next two years.
Average group room rates for meetings were also predicted to increase up to 5% in 2007. In popular meeting destinations, rates were projected to increase up to 9%.
Car rental rates were also projected to increase up to 7% next year.
