Crackdown on Phuket SHA Plus hotels
SHA Plus hotels in Phuket will be penalised if they allow foreign guests to check out before receiving their Covid-19 test results. Deputy governor Phichet Panapong says many hotels have been breaking the rules and officials will now crack down.
Two hotels known to have violated the rules will be punished and certain measures will be imposed on hotels failing to follows all protocols.
A first offence will lead to hotels being banned from accepting bookings for one day, while a second offence means a one-week ban. A further violation would see their SHA Plus approval revoked, and would not be permitted to accept inbound foreign guests.
