Cross channel ferry hits Dover wall
A DFDS cross channel ferry was evacuated on Sunday morning after it hit a harbour wall at Dover.
Four of the 320 passengers were taken to hospital for checks following the incident, which happened as the Dover Seaways ship was leaving for Dunkirk.
"Their injuries are not believed to be of a serious nature," said a statement from DFDS.
Some other passengers on the 8am were treated for minor injuries.
"All passengers and freight have now disembarked the vessel and those who chose to continue their journey have been accommodated on other DFDS Seaways ferries," said the statement.
The ferry is currently being assessed for repairs.
DFDS apologised to all those affected and praised the actions of its crew, port personnel and emergency services.
The Port of Dover said the incident would be the subject of its own internal investigation ‘and that of the appropriate statutory authorities’.
