CRUISE: Independence gets million dollar revamp
Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas is to get a makeover in April introducing a new nursery, a digital finding system and a giant outdoor cinema screen.
The ship, which will emerge in May following a $7 million refurb, will also have a Cupcake Cupbaord complete with culinary parties and design classes.
Its new itineraries include more short sailings like two and three night cruises to Paris and Zeebrugge as well as Norway, Mediterranean and Canary Island cruises.
Independence of the Seas is one of many ships being upgraded as part of a $300 million investment programme by Royal Caribbean.
