Cruise line trends next year include more exotic ports

Saturday, 28 Nov, 2005 0

What’s new in the fast-growing cruise line business?

One development: new and enhanced Caribbean itineraries.

Other trends identified by the Cruise Line International Association:

  • More sailings to the deep Caribbean from New York City.

  • More positioning of ships than ever before in anticipation of a hot season in Europe.

  • More itineraries available in all shapes and sizes, ranging from seven to 28 days and longer.

  • More cruises offered in remote, lesser-known ports as far north as the Arctic Circle.

  • More offerings of exclusive resorts in the Eastern and Western Mediterranean.

  • New sailings to the world’s southernmost destination, Antarctica.
