Cruise ship offers huge TV
One of the largest outdoor television screens ever installed on a cruise ship will be featured on Carnival Cruise Lines’ new 110,000-ton Carnival Liberty when it inaugurates its cruise program this summer.
The huge, 12-foot-high by 22-foot wide screen on the Lido deck will show movies, sporting events, concerts and various other programming.
The 270-square foot screen will use the same technology featured in large stadiums and at New York’s Time Square.
“Carnival already offers the widest variety of shipboard activities and the new television screen aboard the Carnival Liberty is just another example of the innovative entertainment options available for guests,” said Bob Dickinson, president and CEO.
Carnival Liberty will launch the line’s first-ever Mediterranean cruise program in late July.
The line currently has two 110,000-ton Superliners scheduled to start service between now and February of 2007.
