Cruise ship runs aground near Greenland
A cruise ship has run aground, leaving over 200 guests stranded in a remote part of Greenland.
It ran aground off the Northeast Greenland National Park.
Denmark’s Joint Arctic Command said that nobody was injured and the ship shows no sign of damage.
However, the Ocean Explorer ship could be stuck for a couple more days yet.
The nearest navy ship capable of helping is about 1,000 nautical miles away.
It is expected to arrive by Friday.
Ocean Explorer is operated by Ulstein Group in Norway.
Marine authorities have asked another cruise ship in the area to stand by to assist if required.
