In March 2000, after eight very successful years at Uniworld, he opened the USA office of Viking River Cruises, and became Viking‘s first President. He then went on to develop the river cruise product for Avalon Waterways and after selling his part-ownership, Schreiner fulfilled his dream and began building his own luxurious river cruise vessels.
Today, Amadeus Waterways owns four of the best river cruise ships in Europe, the Amadagio, Amalegro, Amacello and Amadante. Two additional ships are under construction for 2009, the Amalyra and Amadolce and two more ships have been ordered for 2010. The company also operates ships in Russia, France and Portugal. Schreiner is President and owner of Amadeus Waterways, which he founded in 2002 with partners Kristin Karst and Jimmy Murphy.
