Cruisers injured in Bahamas bus crash
A tour bus carrying dozens of Carnival cruise passengers has crashed in the Bahamas after flipping over.
The bus was carrying 32 guests from the Carnival Ecstasy when it crashed near Rock Sound, Eleuthera.
Four passengers were hospitalized including three who were airlifted to South Florida because of injuries.
They were on an excursion during a Bahamas cruise which departed Jacksonville on June 22.
"All guests were seen at the local medical clinic and 28 have been cleared to return to the ship," Carnival said.
Three sustained injuries too serious to be treated in the Bahamas.
Injuries include fractures, internal injuries and potential paralysis.
They were airlifted to a Fort Lauderdale medical facility.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated and it is still unclear whether any other vehicle was involved.
"In the meantime, the Cathedral Cove, Ocean Hole and Rock Sound island tour has been suspended," the line said.
It follows another bus crash in St. Maarten at the weekend involving passengers on an independent tour from Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas.
The vehicle came off the road and was partly submerged in water, injuring one cruise ship passenger.
