Ctrip adds OpenTable bookings to its restaurants platform
China’s largest online travel agent Ctrip has inked a partnership with online dining discovery and reservations platform OpenTable.
The agreement allows Ctrip mobile app users to book thousands of restaurants across North America.
Ctrip becomes OpenTable’s first partner in the Mainland Chinese market.
OpenTable’s content is added to the Ctrip Gourmet List sharing and discovery platform for restaurants, which launched in 2016.
Gourmet List showcases15,000 restaurants in 120 destinations across China and worldwide.
"Ctrip’s partnership with OpenTable is more about just food – it brings together local culture, communities, lifestyle and travel. This partnership will improve the quality of Ctrip’s travel services and help to provide the growing number of Chinese outbound tourists with a richer and more efficient one-stop travel experience," said Kimi Liu, CEO of Ctrip Gourmet List.
OpenTable is owned by The Priceline Group and touts itself as the world’s leading provider of online restaurant reservations.
"We’re very excited that Ctrip users in North America now have an easy way to discover and book the perfect table whether they’re looking for a last minute reservation near their hotel or seeking a world class fine dining experience," said Scott Jampol, SVP of marketing, OpenTable.
