Ctrip partners with JR Kyushu Rail
Ctrip has inked a memorandum of understanding with Japanese rail operator JR Kyushu Railway Co to lure more Chinese travellers to the Kyushu region.
It is the second such partnership with a Japanese rail operator after a similar agreement with JR East last year.
JR Kyushu will work with Ctrip in joint marketing the region to its customer base with promotional activities and highlighting popular routes and its scenic journeys.
"We hope that in sharing Kyushu with more Chinese tourists, we will make valuable contributions to the region and build stronger ties between China and Kyushu," said JR Kyushu senior managing executive officer, Yohji Furumiya.
Kyushu is a large region made up of seven prefectures.
"We hope that Kyushu might become one of Japan’s most desirable travel destinations for Chinese tourists," Ctrip said.
