CYCLE THE COTSWOLDS SUPPORT SUSTAINABILITY

Gentle cycling operator Capital Sport is adding walking itineraries to its cycling tours and strengthening its support of sustainable tourism in England.
The new walking routes are set in the idyllic setting of the Cotswold hills and valleys and could hardly have a lighter footprint. The start of each walk is reached with a gentle cycle followed by an overnight stay in a local inn. Walking boots get pulled on after breakfast as the hills beckon.
Cycling and walking are of course the most environmentally friendly ways of seeing an area. The only energy required is that of the adventurer but even that of course needs renewing and Capital Sport have sourced some of the region’s best inns, hotels and foodie stops to restore the human engine and to fill panniers and rucksacks with fabulous local cheeses, wines and other delights.
“These new walking and biking tours” said Wendy Carter, Founder and Director of Capital Sport “support our commitment to tourism that is sustainable. We are always seeking ways of minimizing tourisms’ footprint in this well loved region and of supporting hotels and B&BS run by locals serving fine local produce”. “Clients are often looking for a quintessentially English experience and this can best be found by blending into the local scene, savoring the smells and slowing the pace to enjoy the detail. ”
All tours in the Cotswolds start from towns and villages which can be reached by train.
