Cyprus unveils new ad campaign
A new nationwide advertising campaign is to be run until June by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation.
The CTO has also teamed up with Cypriot Wimbledon semi-finalist Marcos Baghdatis to promote tourism to his homeland.
Baghdatis will act as an ambassador and appear in future advertising as well as participating in a series of global events.
The advertising will include prime-time television spots on national TV channels and leading satellite outlets including Channel 4, ITV1, Sky and Travel Channel.
The campaign will also have a print and an outdoor component with advertising in national newspaper supplements and selected glossy magazines including Good Housekeeping and Cosmopolitan.
The outdoor push will target commuters with billboards and digital screens in key London locations as well as bus mega rears, rail stations and central London underground stations.
The “Love Cyprus†theme with heart-shaped imagery will continue to be introduced and the campaign will emphasise scenery and beaches as well as the island’s family-friendly attractions.
Cyprus attracted more than 1.2 million British people last year and the UK is the main market for Cyprus.
