Deadline approaching for BTA nominations

Friday, 23 May, 2017 0

Travel companies have until the end of May to register their nominations in the 2017 British Travel Awards.

BTA CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton urged companies to make sure they don’t miss out.

"There is usually a last minute influx of registrations but there are also always some companies that moan they’ve missed out – because they left it too late, or thought someone else was doing it!

"The ultimate aim is to receive an Award as voted for by the consumer but even to be listed on the nomination form is incredible exposure for any brand – last year 1,332,516 votes and opinions were cast to determine the winners.

She said companies should register no matter what their size.

"Even the smallest travel companies can be in with a chance of winning as 34 of the awards are graded by size, enabling specialist and niche enterprises to be recognised by their customers.

"Once registered all nominees will receive a marketing tool kit, including a ‘Vote for Us’ button to install on electronic communications, to help with lobbying campaigns, encouraging happy customers to vote."

She said registration takes just a few minutes and because the winners are determined solely by votes cast by the travelling public there are ‘no submissions to write, judges to impress or nerve wracking interviews’.
