Deal of the Day: Agatha Christie’s Egypt
Abercrombie & Kent is taking travellers back to 1930s Egypt in celebration of the queen of mystery, Agatha Christie.
A visit to Egypt at the age of 20 inspired Christie’s classic murder mystery Death on the Nile’, published in the late 1930s.
Guests travelling on the small ship Sanctuary Sun Boat III on the anniversary of the author’s birthday, September 15 will mark the occasion with a themed cruise when guests will receive their own personal copy of the novel.
They will also visit many of the sights that feature in the story and enjoy a screening of the classic 1978 movie adaption.
At the end of the cruise guests will be offered afternoon tea on the terrace of the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract where Agatha Christie stayed while writing the book and where the characters gather before boarding their own (ill-fated) Nile cruise.
A&K’s special offer is for the second person to travel free within Egypt, including domestic flights.
The 12 day Land of the Pharaohs Platinum commencing September 12 is priced at
Twin Share: $7,100 1st person, companion free
Single Share: $5,170
