Death toll rising after Burma earthquake
The death toll is expected to rise today in Burma after an earthquake killed at least 12 people.
Aftershocks rattled central Burma after the magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck yesterday near Mandalay, causing a half built bridge to collapse on the Irrawaddy River.
It was also felt in Thailand and neighbouring countries.
"We can confirm that a total of 11 are dead, while over 50 are injured and four are missing," a senior official at the Ministry of Relief and Resettlement told Reuters.
Save The Children told AFP it had reports of 13 deaths across four sites in Burma, with some 40 people injured.
