Deccan Odyssey back on track
The Deccan Odyssey luxury train service, operated by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), has resumed operations with a new look and extra itineraries.
The train was launched in January 2004 and travelled mostly within the state, catering mainly to wealthy foreign tourists. However, after the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, bookings dried up..
It will now offer new itineraries beyond the regular week-long Mumbai-New Delhi run.
MTDC has fully renovate the train which offers luxury compartments, conference facilities and a gym.
