Delhi hotel manager made bomb threats ‘just for fun’
A hotel manager in Delhi was arrested after making hoax bomb threats ‘just for fun’.
A 22-year old identified as Mehfuz made threats to blow up Delhi’s Red Fort and also said a second bomb was planted in a luxury Delhi hotel.
He made calls to random numbers and one man, Nitin Kumar, answered the call and immediately contacted the police.
"I was in my digital marketing class when I got a call around 7 pm from a man, claiming to be from Pakistan. He said that there will be a bomb blast at the Red Fort around 8.30 pm. He also claimed that there is a bomb planted in a hotel in Connaught Place," Kumar said.
Mehfuz was traced to a hotel in Paharganj, Delhi where he works as a manager and promptly arrested.
He said he made the treats ‘just for fun’ and late Sunday was still being questioned by police and officers from the Intelligence Bureau.
