Delta Air Lines is set to exit the Singapore market after announcing a planned pull out at Tokyo Narita.
Effective for the summer season of 2020, Delta will consolidate all operations at Tokyo Haneda.
That means its route from Tokyo Narita to Singapore bites the dust.
In a recent expansion rollout at Haneda, Delta secured five additional flight slots, so will base all operations there from next summer.
It currently operates Haneda flights to Los Angeles and Minneapolis, and will add services to Atlanta, Honolulu, Portland, Detroit and Seattle.
Tokyo Haneda is the preferred airport for airlines due to its closer proximity to the city.
With United Airlines and Singapore Airlines adding direct services from Singapore to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Newark, Delta envisages slowing demand for its Tokyo-Singapore connection.
Delta’s last flight to Singapore will operate on September 22.
