Delta and LATAM introduce reciprocal frequent flyer perks

Friday, 28 Feb, 2020 0

Delta Air Lines and partner LATAM have sealed a frequent flyer agreement.

Mileage award and redemption for Delta SkyMiles members traveling on LATAM flights will begin on or after April 1, 2020.

Full frequent flyer reciprocity will cover all flights in the Delta and LATAM networks, comprising more than 400 destinations.

Additionally, reciprocal benefits for elite members, including lounge access and priority boarding, will launch later in 2020.

"With frequent flyer reciprocity and new codeshare flight options, we’re already beginning to deliver on this partnership for our customers, with much more to come," said Steve Sear, Delta’s president – International.

The airlines will continue to expand codesharing across their respective networks, with LATAM’s affiliate in Brazil being added in the first half of 2020, pending regulatory approval.

It follows the launch of codesharing with LATAM’s affiliates in Colombia and Ecuador.

Next month Delta will relocate its operations to Sao Paulo Terminal 3 to better integrate with LATAM services.

Delta acquired a 20% equity stake in LATAM and has announced 13 new daily nonstop flights from Miami to improve domestic connectivity with LATAM’s international network to South Florida.
