Delta bringing back booze on domestic flights
Delta Airlines is reintroducing booze on some domestic flights.
The Atlanta based carrier said it will once again serve select beers and wines on flights of more than 500 miles.
Delta says it is bringing it back due to customer feedback and has worked with health professionals to ensure safety and hygiene.
It will now offer single-serve red and white wine, Heineken, Miller Lite, SweetWater 420 and SweetWater IPA.
"Our goal is to serve all of our food and beverage offerings in the safest way possible – both for our customers and employees," said Allison Ausband, Delta’s SVP of in-flight service.
"We take pride in always listening to our customers, and we know beer and wine are the adult beverages our customers want most.
It is the first step to what it hopes will be a full normalized in-flight service in time.
Drinks will be given in cans and single-serve bottles using serving trays to minimize physical touching.
Complimentary beer, wine and cocktails remain available in all cabins on long-haul international routes.
