Delta is first US airline to put hand sanitizer stations on planes
Delta Air Lines has started placing hand sanitizer stations on its aircraft.
It is the first US airline to do so.
It began installing them on its Boeing 757-200 fleet and will add them to all operational planes in its fleet over the coming weeks.
The foam hand sanitizer stations are placed at the boarding door and next to bathrooms.
There may be as many as five sanitizer stations depending on the size of the aircraft, Delta said.
"(We are) going even further to make sure customers feel safe and comfortable when they travel with Delta," said Bill Lentsch, Delta’s Chief Customer Experience Officer.
It is part of Dellta’s CareStandard initiative to ensure optimum cleanliness in the aircraft cabin.
This includes a range of hands-free equipment such as touchless taps and flush levers.
Hand-washing reminders will be placed in each lavatory.
