Delta revamps regional operations
Delta Air Lines is streamlining its regional operations by reducing airline partners from five to three.
It is ending Delta Connection regional partnerships with both GoJet Airlines and Compass Airlines.
That will leave its own subsidiary Endeavor Air, SkyWest Airlines and Republic Airways as the only carriers operating Delta Connection feeder routes.
The change will be phased in over the next year Delta said.
"In an effort to reduce operational complexity and create better consistency with the overall product and experience for customers, Delta is reducing the number of regional carriers from five to three," Delta said in a statement.
The three remaining carriers will then focus on specific regions.
Compass and GoJet operate more than 60 jets for Delta Connection.
Those aircraft will be allocated to the three remaining carriers.
Indianapolis-based Compass also operates flights for American Airlines while GoJet currently partners with United Airlines.
