Delta scraps selling food on flights
There’s no appetite for food aboard Delta Airlines but Southwest says it will continue to serve its snacks and beverages on every flight.
Delta announced the end of its experiment selling food. The airline is also hiking alcohol prices $1 to $5. Pillows are being tossed as well. If there’s a silver lining, more blankets will be available
Southwest, which used to be known for its peanuts thrown to passengers, is now serving name-brand snacks and beverages on every flight. The airline now serves 18 different complimentary beverages.
Southwest in April will also start offering Nibisco packs of Cheese Nips in its Snak Packs for customers on long haul flights.
A footnote: Delta says coach passengers on flights of more than 1 and a half hours will get a wider assortment of snacks; for flights longer than three and a half hours, passengers will get a Snak Pack.
