Destination masters announced
M.Sc. Tourism Destination Development at Dalarna University
New Swedish course sets out to breed quality destinations and gives an opportunity to learn about and participate in tourism destination development projects.
The courses adopt the overall perspective of sustainable development and focus on planning and marketing of tourism destinations in both Sweden as well as other parts of the world.
Programme courses:
- Sustainable Destination Development
- Event Tourism – Planning, Marketing,
- Evaluation
- Managing and Interpreting Natural and Cultural Heritage Sites
- Place and Destination Marketing ÞResearch Methods
- Thesis Project
The length of study is 10 months full-time
The course, in English, starts in August 2016, there are no tuition fees for EU citizens non-EU citizens 88,200 SEK (€9445)
Says the university: "The international character of the study environment will provide strong opportunities for you to build your networks and prepare yourself for a future career in the international tourism industry."
"Successful candidates to the programme are those who are interested in working with sustainable destination development and thus becoming a part of the fast- growing international tourism industry."
"The programme is suitable for students with a bachelor’s degree with a major in Tourism Studies, Business Administration and Management, Human Geography, Economics, or similar fields. Documented good command of both oral and written English is required."
