DIGITAL VISITOR AND VISITBRITAIN ENCOURAGE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NATIONAL SOCIAL MEDIA INITIATIVE

Social media solution gurus – Digital Visitor have teamed up with VisitBritain to offer a social media platform ‘Visitor Review’ which enhances the marketing of tourist attractions across Britain. They are holding a seminar at Attractions Expo, part of Leisure Industry Week, on how attractions can benefit from being part of a national social media initiative.

Attraction companies who attend the seminar on September 22 will get their own branded social media solution set up free of charge, which has a value of £2000. This solution allows visitors of the attraction to upload their own video, photographs or text comments, sharing their experience with other visitors and potential visitors. Also linked to the VisitBritain and VisitEngland Visitor Review platforms, this will provide attractions with huge online publicity potential both nationally and internationally.

“Social media marketing and in particular user generated content are hot topics in the tourism industry. There are huge benefits for attractions and venues to take advantage of the distribution network created through this VisitBritain initiative. This co-ordinated national approach to user generated content is a first anywhere in the world therefore making this an extremely exciting project,” says Anthony Rawlins, Managing Director for Digital Visitor.

“Visitor attractions and venues will form an important part of the initiative, so we are delighted to introduce the project at LIW and provide the special offer of free set up of their own social media solution for every attraction or venue that attends our seminar,” says Justin Reid, Head of Online and CRM at VisitBritain.

Digital Visitor and VisitBritain will also be on stand A210 during the event to offer further guidance on how being part of this social media initiative will enhance businesses.
