Direct hotel internet bookings continues to rise
Internet reservations at major hotel brands grew 2.8% last year over 2003, reported TravelCLICK in its eTRAK results.
“Brand websites grew substantially and gained share compared to third-party merchants and opaque websites,” the report said.
Brand websites were the source of 71.4% of the brands’ centrally booked internet reservations, compared to 66.5 % in 2003.
Reservations booked via brand websites climbed 31.9% over the 2003 level.
The 32 major brands in the study reported that on average, 21.9% of their CRO reservations were received from their brand website.
