Directski.com to sell through trade
Specialist tour operator directski.com has launched a business-to-business version for agents.
The Irish operator will act as the principal and is offering agents commission of between 10% and 13% depending on sales volumes.
Agents can choose to access the accommodation, ski packs, charter flights and transfers via an agent login or opt for a full white-label service with a reporting facility included.
Any agent wanting to feature ski deals on their own websites can use an XML feed from directski.
Online travel agent Opodo has been using directski as a white label for its ski product.
Directski chief technical officer Dermot McNally said: “We contract charter flights and beds and because of our performance up to now they are prepared to give us extra accommodation so the trade is an obvious extension. It’s access to beds that are otherwise hard to come by.”
McNally added that a ski specialist agent would be up and running on the system within weeks.
“For any agent that likes ski this is a prime opportunity. It’s also for anybody doing dynamic packaging and people that understand the value of this accommodation and ancillary services.”
Depending on the success of the trade ski service directski also has the potential to offer luxury accommodation and other similar products.
“Once the model is mature enough we want to do more on a long-haul basis.”
