Trafalgar and The Australian Women’s Weekly magazine have launched their newest joint venture – the 2007 European Discovery Tour, giving agents a unique summer European holiday option to offer clients.

Paul Wiseman, MD, Trafalgar Tours, said “The 27-day 2007 European Discovery Tour showcases a fascinating mix of Europe’s most popular attractions such as Paris , Rome , London and Vienna , and emerging destinations including Prague , Budapest and Ljubljana.

“This holiday offers readers of The Australian Women’s Weekly the chance to explore ten European countries and 19 exciting cities, complete with impressive sightseeing, dining and accommodation highlights, all in the company of like-minded travellers”.

“With a mix of historical attractions, chic cities, dramatic landscapes and cultural masterpieces this tour will appeal to all travellers, especially those venturing to Europe for the first time”.

The Australian Woman’s Weekly has had a long and successful history creating Discovery Tours for its readers, a tradition it was keen to revive in partnership with Trafalgar, as both brands are well-recognised and respected in Australia .”

These Australian Women’s Weekly World Discovery Tours have been a huge success since first announced in March 1965. Back then, all 695 of the available tickets sold out 11 months before the scheduled departure. The 1967 tour was announced while the 1966 group was still abroad and sold out within a few days to 1250 readers. By 1982, the World Discovery tours had catered to 15,000 people and generated travel and tourist spending of more than $100 million.

This is the second Discovery Tour that Trafalgar and The Australian Woman’s Weekly have released, the first of which, the Christmas in Europe Discovery Tour 2006, is due for departure next month.

Paul Wiseman said, “The Christmas in Europe Discovery Tour 2006 sold out so quickly we were forced to add a second coach to cope with demand. We could have added additional coaches, but decided to restrict the tour to two coaches to maintain the intimacy and exclusivity of the tour.”

Sightseeing highlights on the 27-day 2007 European Discovery Tour include: city tours in Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, Ljubljana, Rome, Capri and Paris with a charismatic local guide, plus, new Hidden Treasure walking tours in Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Rome, Capri, Pompeii Excavations, Florence and Paris. The detailed brochure, outlining the tour’s sightseeing highlights can be downloaded at Trafalgar’s website www.trafalgar.com.

Clients will enjoy a number of dining highlights, ensuring they can sample the very best of local cuisine while on tour, including a seafood lunch on the colourful Italian fisherman’s island of Burano , a traditional Hungarian feast in Budapest , dinner onboard a glass topped boat while cruising along Amsterdam ’s canals, local specialties in a typical Provençal restaurant and more.

A selection of First Class, Superior First Class and Deluxe have been carefully selected to enhance your client’s holiday. While in Florence , clients will stay in the heart of the historical town centre at the Grand Hotel Cavour; in Venice , the Hotel Bellini, an ancient palace on the banks of Venice ’s Grand Canal; and in Monaco , the Le Meridian Beach Plaza nestled along the crystal blue Mediterranean.

Exclusive 2007 departures include: June 25; July 2, 23, 30; August 20, 27. The tour departs London for 27 days, priced from $7185 (per person, twin share, land only), and includes touring by luxury air-conditioned coach, daily sightseeing, twin share hotel accommodation, many meals including breakfast daily, the services of a professional tour director and driver, airport transfers and much more.

Clients will also receive a bonus six-month subscription to The Australian Women’s Weekly or a six-month extension for current subscribers.
