Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is to face a lawsuit from parents whose child was scorched by hot cheese during a visit to Orlando’s Magic Kingdom last year.
The company has just received the lawsuit from a Californian couple who say their four-year-old Isaiah Harris was injured at Cosmic Ray’s Starlite Café when he toppled into a scalding hot cup of cheese that had been prepared for pouring over nachos.
It splattered over his face after he became unsteady in his chair and grabbed a tray with the cheese on to right himself.
The lawsuit reports that the child suffered “permanent scarring, pain and suffering” and his mum and dad suffered “serious emotional distress”.
Disney has confirmed receipt of the lawsuit and says it is “reviewing it”.
