Disney revises online training scheme after research
A revised online training programme for agents has been launched by Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
The Disney Stars scheme, which has been completed by 7,000 agents, has been updated using insights from consumer and trade research.
The training programme must now be completed annually to ensure agents are kept up to date with the latest developments in the resort. A newly-created refresher programme is claimed to take only 20 minutes to complete.
Accessed via www.disneytravelagents.co.uk, the content has been enhanced following research amongst UK consumers which identifies areas where customers felt they needed more guidance from their travel agent.
For example, guests stressed the importance of relaxation as part of their holiday. The new training programme helps agents to communicate the vast variety of relaxation and recreation available at Walt Disney World Resort.
Another important question amongst potential guests was the best age to take their children to Walt Disney World Resort. To help agents show their customers that the resort has a wealth of entertainment for all ages, Disney Stars now links attractions and activities to distinct groups, such as toddlers and thrill seekers.
Sales and marketing vice-president Jeff James said: “We have conducted thorough research and implemented a number of changes to our online training programme in order to provide agents with what they need to sell Walt Disney World Resort holidays to their customers – whatever the age and tastes of their traveling party.
“Disney Stars is easier to use than ever and increases sales opportunities for UK agents by enabling them to communicate the product more thoroughly and effectively.”
