Disney settles credit card fee lawsuit
Within days of filing a lawsuit against Visa and Mastercard over high credit card processing fees, Disney has apparently secured a settlement.
According to court documents, Disney requested to dismiss the suit. Disney filed the action on behalf of customers stung with ‘excessive interchange and network fees.’
To get better terms for themselves, Disney had opted out of a $6 billion settlement brought by other retailers.
Visa and Mastercard account for over 80% of all debit purchases, the lawsuit stated.
