Disney to cruise the Med
Disney Cruise Line is to deploy a ship in Europe for the first time next summer.
Disney Magic will sail from Barcelona on a series of eight 10 and 11-night cruises which go on sale on April 4.
The 877-cabin ‘family-friendly’ ship, which has a deck set aside solely for children, will run alternating itineraries between May 26 and August 8.
Four 11-night cruises will depart on Saturdays and the four 10-night sailings will leave on Wednesdays.
The eight ports of call in the Med include France, Italy, Sicily and Sardinia.
The ship repositions to the Mediterranean from Port Canaveral in Florida on May 12 and returns from Barcelona on August 18 on 14-night transatlantic crossings.
Disney Cruise Line president Tom McAlpin said: “Our guests have told us they would love to take a European vacation, but all of the planning and logisitics can be daunting. These special sailings will offer a hassle-free way to experience the beauty and culture of Europe combijned with the fun of a Disney cruise.”
Walt Disney Parks & Resorts chairman Jay Rasulo added: “Disney Cruise Line is a model for the way we are expanding our family vacation business worldwide by offering new experiences the whole family can enjoy.”
