Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening dates revealed
Fans impatient to venture to a galaxy far, far away don’t have too much longer to wait.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland in California on May 31 while the Walt Disney World version launches on August 29.
The opening dates for the company’s most anticipated new attraction for years were revealed at Walt Disney Co.’s annual shareholder meeting this week.
The Star Wars land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios covers 14 acres and features the Millennium Falcon as well as a host of weird and wonderful droids and alien characters.
There are full-size replicas of the X-wing and A-wing starfighters and several themed restaurants and bars.
It also includes a cantina serving alcohol.
However, a Hollywood Studios park ticket alone won’t guarantee you access. From the opening date through June 23, all visitors will need to reserve a spot.
It is free to do so but places a limited with hotel guests getting priority.
Disney says it will announce more details about this at a later date.
No reservations will be required when Galaxy’s Edge opens at WDW although numbers will also be limited.
Disney is also building a Star Wars themed hotel at the Florida park.
