Dom Rep cruise & stay debut by Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean International is introducing land stays in the Dominican Republic as part of new itineraries for next winter.
Seven night post-cruise stays in the Sunscape Casa Del Mar in Bayahibe are offered in addition to week-long sailings on 2,076-passenger Legend of the Seas from Santo Domingo which start in December 2007. Two week cruise-and-stay packages start at £1,599.23 based on two sharing.
Ports of call include Philipsburg (St Maarten), Roseau (Dominica), St George’s (Grenada), Margarita Island (Venezuela), and Oranjestad (Aruba – overnight stay).
A second itinerary includes Basseterre (St Kitts), Pointe-a-Pitre (Guadeloupe), Fort-de-France (Martinique), Bridgetown (Barbados) and Castries (St Lucia).
Royal Caribbean is to run charter flights from the UK to the Dominican Republic to serve the cruises next winter.
UK and Ireland managing director Robin Shaw said: “The new Legend of the Seas cruise and all inclusive stay packages allow Royal Caribbean International to offer a holiday opportunity that combines the best of sea and land in the Caribbean.
“We hope that this new option will give agents the chance to add a cruise element to their clients interested in all inclusive packages and further increase their earnings from cruise clients by maximising a Caribbean experience with additional land stays.”
The Sunscape Casa Del Mar hotel includes four restaurants, swimming pool and children’s pool, rooms with terrace or balcony, children’s club and shuttle buses to La Romana town and local golf course.
