Doubling dollars and other hot meeting deals
Recent meeting deals include:
• Steinhatchee Landing Resort in Steinhatchee Landing, Fla., is offering planners of religious groups, conferences, corporate retreats and small meetings a 50 percent discount on accommodations and meeting space. To claim the discount, planners must reserve at least 10 of the resort’s 50 one- to four-bedroom cottages for meetings taking place through June 15 of this year.
• Visit Jacksonville in Jacksonville has introduced a new group promotion, called "Double Your Dollars," that gives meeting planners a rebate of US$10 per room night when they sign a contract for at least 100 room nights. Meetings must be booked by March 31, and actualized from July to December 2010 or 2011.
• Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is offering a new "Meetings With More" package. Available worldwide, it includes: complimentary continental breakfast daily, 10 percent savings on banquet menus, complimentary Internet access in guest rooms and general session meeting room, one complimentary guest room per 30 room nights occupied, 25 percent attrition allowance up to 7 days ahead of arrival, and 10 percent of groups’ actual room revenue credited toward their next event. Good for meetings booked by March 31, of this year and held by Oct. 31, 2010, rates starting at US$135 in the Americas, US$105 in Asia/Pacific and US$145 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
