Dream Cruises unveils details of world’s longest roller coaster at sea
Dream Cruises’ latest mega ship, which is currently under construction in Germany, will feature the world’s longest roller coaster at sea.
When Global Dream debuts in 2021, it will offer guests rides on the ‘Space Cruiser’ coaster which runs on a 300-metre track.
It forms the showpiece of the ‘Dream Park at the Pier’ which Dream Cruises say is the first ever theme park concept at sea.
Dream Cruises has partnered with Maurer Rides to develop the Space Cruiser which is powered by powerful electric motors and a positive-locking drive system.
"This guarantees a spectacular ride at up to 60 km/h (37 mph) over the heads of fellow passengers," said Marco Hartwig, project manager at Maurer Rides.
The Dream Park at the Pier theme park concept will also include a bungee trampoline, a surf simulator and mini karts for young children.
The ship will also have a Cineplex, Asian and Western spas, shopping and multiple Asian and international dining venues.
