Dreamliner back in commercial service
The first commercial 787 Dreamliner flight has been completed following the five-month grounding of the Boeing aircraft.
An Ethiopian Airlines 787 flew from Addis Ababa to Nairobi on Saturday.
All 50 Dreamliners worldwide were grounded in January due to problems with their lithium batteries.
Boeing engineers have been working around the clock to fit new batteries and last week aviation authorities finally gave the all-clear.
The newly-designed batteries run at a much cooler temperature and are now enclosed in stainless steel boxes.
The boxes have been fitted with ventilation pipes which go directly to the outside of the plane, which means that in the unlikely event of fire and smoke, it would not affect the rest of the aircraft.
