Dubai resumes flights after drone incident

Tuesday, 17 Mar, 2026 0

Dubai International Airport has started resuming a limited number of flights following a drone attack.

The ‘drone-related incident’ caused a fire to a fuel tank, sparking a suspension of all flights.

“Dubai Airports confirms the gradual resumption of some flights to selected destinations, following the temporary suspension implemented as a precautionary measure,” the airport operator said in an update.

“Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest updates regarding their flights.”

Main airline Emirates started a ‘limited schedule’ on Monday.

The airline is flying some near-empty planes back to Dubai.

According to Bloomberg, some inbound flights from central Europe are only about 10% full, while seats on flights from New York were only about 20% sold.

Emirates’ normal pre war schedule is about 500 flights out of Dubai daily.

During the drone attack, some inbound flights were rerouted to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
