Dusit International forms Japanese hotel joint venture

Thailand based hotel group Dusit International is eyeing opportunities in Japan after signing joint venture agreement with Colours International Co., Ltd, which operates the E-Hotels chain.
 
A new entity called Dusit Colours Co., Ltd will be formed and the two companies will work oon a new hotel franchise model around the best of Thai and Japanese hospitality cultures.
 
Several major Japanese cities are being looked at for new hotels under the flagship Dusit Thani brand, along with other Dusit hotel brands in the near future.
 
"Two core areas for Dusit’s profitable and sustainable growth include balance and expansion," said Suphajee Suthumpun, group chief executive officer of Dusit International and a newly appointed director of Dusit Colours. 
 
"In the next three years we aim to broaden our portfolio to have more than 50 per cent of our operations outside of Thailand, and entering key markets such as Japan will be essential to reaching this goal. We are delighted to partner with Colours International for this joint venture."
