The Charlie Hotel: Popular family favourite, The Charlie Hotel features individually furnished rooms that come complete with amenities. They include a fully-equipped kitchen, in-unit laundry,  hypo-allergenic bedding and blackout curtains. Extra beds and cots are also available to guests upon request (surcharge applicable). The hotel offers in-room childcare services at an additional charge.

 

Parks and Museums

Academy Museum of Motion Pictures: Offering free admission for children under 17, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is a must-visit attraction. Walk through the immersive exhibits which feature the creation process of some of the most iconic Hollywood films. The museum also offers family-friendly programming such as drop-in workshops on the first three Saturdays of each month. Suitable for families with children aged two and up, all workshops are free with museum admission.  Workshops range from art-making, to hands-on experiences with movie making equipment. Visitors can also catch the Family Matinees which feature family-friendly films every Saturday at 11 am.

 

Plummer Park: With a large children’s play area, Plummer Park is the perfect spot for families looking for some outdoor fun. The park houses a tennis court and a basketball court as well for those who might be looking to get some exercise. Every Monday, visitors can check out the Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market for organic produce, good food and live music.

 

 

Food

Carney’s Restaurant: Carney’s Restaurant opened in 1975, built out of an Old Pacific Railroad train. The family-owned restaurant has an extensive menu of different hot dogs and burgers. The food, coupled with the unique set up, makes for a great family-friendly pitstop.
