Eastern Airways enters Administration
UK regional airline Eastern Airways has officially entered administration.
It comes after most of its 330 staff were recently let go.
Jamie Miller of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory was appointed joint administrator.
Miller said a small team of employees were retained to maintain its aircraft.
“We would welcome any interest from potential alternative operators, or those who may have an interest in the underlying assets,” he said.
The airline operated scheduled and some essential air services across the UK.
It also had a contract to operate services for KLM Cityhopper in Europe but when this ended, it made the remaining business unsustainable.
Last week, the Humberside based airline ceased all flight operations.
