EasyJet in mid-flight emergency
An easyJet flight was forced to return to Inverness Airport shortly after take-off yesterday afternoon following a bird-strike.
The airline said the pilot of flight EZY864 to Gatwick had returned to Inverness only as a precaution.
Fire crews were on standby when the plane landed, but all passengers disembarked normally, said the airline.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience as a result of the delay," added a spokeswoman.
“The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”
