Easyjet orders 15 Airbus aircraft
Easyjet has confirmed that it has ordered 15 new Airbus A320s for delivery in 2012-14.
The airline did not disclose how much it had paid for the aircraft, whose list price is £710 million.
Easyjet has managed to secure a discount with Airbus after agreeing to switch from rival Boeing in 2002.
It also announced yesterday that it has switched a deal for the delivery of 20 A319 aircraft to the larger A320 and has secured options for a further 33 A320s.
The airline’s chief executive Carolyn McCall said: "A central feature of the agreement is the flexibility it gives Easyjet to vary the growth rate in its capacity to reflect economic conditions and market opportunities.”
